How do I change ipod classic video to wide screen?

I have a ipod classic (80gb) that I just downloaded a movie to. Unfortunately, the movie only seems to show in full screen mode, and does it by cutting off a good amount of the movie off the two sides. I would like to know if there is a setting somewhere I can change so that it get’s put into widescreen mode(nothing chopped off) even if there end up being 2 black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

if you didn’t download it off i tunes it probably was set to be a full screen only movie. in tunes most movies have it so you an choose if that’s not the case then the way you change it is go to the main menu>videos>settings>tv screen set to wide screen then scroll down to fit to screen if that’s off turn it on
