IPod Touch?

I want to download games onto my ipod touch, but on itunes it says games are only compatible with classic, 5th generation, and nano 3rd generation. does ipod touch fall under any of these categories? (obviously not nano or classic.) Is ipod touch a 5th generation ipod?

The ipod 5th generation is the regular Ipod Classic that was released in late 2005, after the nano debuted. It was the first ipod to have video i believe.

As for now there are only homebrew type emulators/games that you can put on your touch, however if something goes wrong you can brick your ipod.

There are some games that you can get from apple store more like links to some applications however i think it is only good if you have a wi-fi connection, thus you cant take it with you and change games on the fly.
