Difference Between USB Voice Recorder and Non-usb Voice Recorder by h.zool
Are you shopping for a USB voice recorder and wondering which one is the
best? Wonder no more because voice recorders come in different types, some simple and
others complex but all designed to serve your needs.
Cassette voice recorder
This type of voice recorder uses cassettes and it’s also user friendly. With built in
microphone and speaker, the device enables you to record and playback your recording
immediately. With this great advantage, the device comes in handy especially in
interviews and it helps you know what you might have missed out by simply playing
back what you have already recorded.
Other advantages of these recorders are; they have automatic recording level control so
you won’t have to keep checking voice levels, 2-Speed Record/Playback and most
importantly an earphone jack that enables you to listen to what you are recording.
The main disadvantage of this type of voice recorder is that the quality of sound is poor.
The microphone picks up surrounding noise while recording hence making it difficult to
listen during playback.
Another disadvantage is that most of these recording devices use non rechargeable
batteries which don’t last for long. You will be required to carry extra batteries if you
need to record for than 2 hours.
Digital USB Voice Recorders
These recorders are much more powerful than cassette voice recorders. They are much
easier to use and store data for a longer period of time. The advantages of these devices
are they have a longer recording time 40 – 400 hours depending on the device, have
rechargeable batteries which lasts up to 4 hours continuous recording.
Another advantage of USB voice recorders is you can upload your audio file to any
computer for future use and also you can listen to the recording using any audio player.
The main disadvantage of this device is that you cannot listen to the recorded material
from the device itself hence making it impossible to tell if you have everything you need.
Aside from that, the features of a USB recorder are a good upgrade to the traditional casette.
Voice recorders are available at different prices depending on the type you need.

Amazing Grace: The Complete Recordings $11.96 This Rhino re-release of Amazing Grace is at least as much a work of love as of marketing. The sound is beefier and clearer, but most importantly, the two-day church sessions are included. So, there’s much more church (specifically, Reverend James Cleveland’s marvelous orating) on the record, as well as contemporaryisms such as a cool organ rendition of George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord.” Originall… |

Made In Japan: The Remastered Edition $5.00 Judging by the thick chugging that Deep Purple pull off as they enter “Highway Star” on this classic 1972 set, this band was of an era that appreciated size in sound. Ritchie Blackmore’s guitar and Jon Lord’s keyboards owned the evenings on the quintet’s Japanese tour, giving the band a front-end density that kept drummer Ian Paice’s snap heavy and loud. On tour in support of the album Machine Hea… |
