How do I put mp3s on my Sony mp3/USB flash disk?

My roomie left it when she moved and I’ve been trying to figure out how to transfer mp3s over. I’ve tried opening up the drive and dragging and dropping the music and while it is on the flash disk, it doesn’t play when i’m listening to the music. I don’t have any Installation disk or anything. Any suggestions?
